“Navigating the Cancer Journey”

In 2009, the Maryland and District of Columbia Society for Clinical Oncology (MDCSCO) formed the non-profit 501 C (3) Oncology Foundation of Maryland and the District of Columbia (OFMDC). The purpose of the OFMDC is to conduct education and outreach programs, including Cancer Forums and other discussion and learning formats, by involving hospitals, oncologists, health departments, health care providers and related organizations to educate the general public on topics such as cancer prevention, cancer detection treatment.

The OFMDC is believed to be the first its type nationwide with this mission, and represents a pioneering effort at communicating vital and accurate information to patients and their families, friends and the general public.

OUR VISION

To continue to build onto the relationships that MDCSCO has established with area hospitals, the Anne Arundel County Health Dept, the American Cancer Society chapters and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship in a quest to expand efforts to educate the public about the positive things happening in cancer research and care.

OUR MISSION

Bringing together in a non-competing forum, patients, patient advocates, doctors and the research industry to provide education and information on available cancer resources.
